Festival dell'Handmade novembre 2013: il resoconto {part I}

Now some photos of our stand... but stay tuned, in some days I'll write a post with a small selection of the artists I found in Verona with us :)

{WIP} Behind the scenes of the new boho jewelry collection -PART I-

ITA (English version follows):
Buongiorno amici!

ENG:
Hi!
Today I'd like to show you the first chapter of the "behind the scenes" of the new born "Tracce" collection.
Before, I wanna introduce it to you with some lines ;)

“Tracce” (the italian word for “Traces” or “Tracks”), the new jewelry collection signed by PetiteFraise, is inspired by very different cultures, colors and places. The inspirations travel from Central and South America up to Africa, from India to Egypt and Morocco, from Venice to the East, borrowing patterns, forms, geometries, colors and designs. We follow the “Traces” of antique and modern people, of ethnic groups of yesterday and today, of nature and animals belonging to far and variegated places on Earth. Bright colors alternate with basic combinations such as gold, black, white and navy blue; geometric and clean lines come together with flourish, curves and gymkhanas.
“Tracce” is a collection handmade from the very beginning to the end: from the starting idea and the sketching to the modelling with polymer clay, from the handpainting with acrylic colors to the polishing and the assembling of the final piece.

Is “Tracce” different from “Gypsy” collection? Yes, it is. First of all, the medium and the material are different: “Tracce” is handmodeled out of polymer clay, handpainted and then assembled with glass and resin beads and semiprecious stones; while “Gypsy” features very basic elements made in raw brass and paired with beads and stones. “Tracce” mixes simple and minimal lines with more elaborate forms and decorations, borrowing from oriental, venetian and tribal patterns.

In the meanwhile, the first pieces of this new collection are available in my Etsy shop. I introduced them in October, here.

Artist I love: La Douceur Du Miel

Today I wanna introduce you an illustrator I love very much: La Douceur Du Miel. Ok ok, maybe I'm a little biased: Elena, hand and mind behind La Douceur du Miel, is my sister! Anyway, I really adore her super sweet illustrations, about cute and tender bears, shy or happy and bright girls, pastel colors, smiling animals and a lot of... imagination!
Her illustrations, made as prints, postcards, greeting cards and Mieleskine (miele, the italian word for "honey", + moleskine = handpainted notebooks with her favorite animal, the bear), are dedicated to "children and never grown up people".
With Elena I'll share the stand during the "Festival dell'Handmade" in Verona, on 23rd and 24th of November (blog - FB page).
In the meanwhile, if you want to admire and purchase her illustrations, here some links!
