Behind the scenes: the making of Taormina earrings

Non so se vi ricordate, ma l'anno scorso realizzai per l'estate qualche gioiello dall'ispirazione marina. Facevano ancora parte della collezione "Gypsy", prima che decidessi di creare la "Spirit of Earth", dedicando ai miei gioielli in metallo lavorato a mano da me una dimensione tutta loro.

Tra questi c'erano anche gli orecchini "Taormina", in ottone e bellissime perle artigianali in vetro (realizzati da un'artista slovacca piena di talento), di un verde acqua così intenso da togliere il fiato, decorate da una spolverata di sabbia. La settimana scorsa questi orecchini sono stati adottati di nuovo, perciò li ho ricreati apposta per la cliente che li ha acquistati... e ho pensato di fare qualche foto al "work in progress", in modo di potervi mostrare qualche passaggio del mio lavoro :)

Maybe you don't remember, but last year I made for the Summer some seaside inspired pieces of jewelry. They belonged to the "Gypsy" collection, before creating the "Spirit of Earth" collection for my metal jewelry, completely handmade by me.  

In the Summer collection, there were also the "Taormina" earrings, in brass and with wonderful artisanal glass beads (made by a very talented artist from Slovakia), in a breathtaking teal color, decorated with some sand. Last week, these earrings have been adopted again, so I made them once again for my customer... and I decided to take some photos of the "work in progress", so that I can show you some steps of my work :)

I just cut the brass. It's time to "bake" it with the flame.

Qui l'ottone è appena stato martellato e poi ricotto.

Si creano le monachelle per gli orecchini con filo di ottone.

I pezzi sono rifiniti e pronti: è ora di assemblarli nel pezzo finito.
